JAMMU, Oct 6: Member Parliament Jammu Poonch Constituency, Madan Lal Sharma asked the state gGovernment to adopt social model of disability which should be totally inclusive and disable friendly .
The camp was organized by State Trading Corporation of India in calliberation with Bhagwan Mahavir Viklang Sahayata Samiti.
Speaking on the occasion of distribution and fitment camp of Artificial limbs, Polio Callipers and tri cycles at JRC Home for handicapped Udheywalla here, Madan Lal said that there should be full and effective participation and inclusion of disabled persons in the society and there should be respect for difference, acceptance of differently abled persons as a part of human diversity and humanity.
Madan Lal called for inclusive education system, transport facilities, Banks etc for ensuring equality of opportunity and accessibility to disabled persons. He appealed the Government and NGOs to come far ward and contribute in developing an inclusive atmosphere where every disabled person live with full dignity and honour.
Madan Lal congratulated the organisers for distributing support to disabled persons, terming the support as right of differently abled people. He asked the organisers to hold similar camps in border belts of Samba, Jammu, Rajouri and Poonch districts where lot of handicapped people are living and required such support. He also met with the people and Children whom support was given and assured them full support in restoration their rights . On the occasion Member Parliament announced Rs 5 lacs for upgradation of Physiotherpy unit of JRC Home for handicapped Udheywalla .
Those were present on the occasion includes Satish Sharma, Jt. Secy. Red Cross, Joginder Chatterpaul, Secy., Satpaul Saraf, Ramesh Kumar and many more.
