ON A MISSION: (From right) Matt Cassels, Harley Bodenham, Zac Paden, Vincent Bashford, John Cieslak and Luke Murray will be flown to a conference in Sydney.

A GROUP of musicians with varying abilities will hit Sydney to show what they've got on an exciting trip later this month.

The Brotherhood of the Blues from RED Inc are headed to the National Disability Service NSW's Shaping the Future: Preparing for Change conference in Sydney on February 15-16.

After Zac Paden and Matt Cassels from the Brotherhood spoke at an NDS conference in Alice Springs in October, along with RED Inc operations manager Josie Donnelly, they were asked to perform at the Sydney conference.

This time, however, the whole Brotherhood gets to come along on an all- expenses-paid expedition.

The lads are being flown down to Sydney and put up in the Hilton Hotel, and they couldn't be more thrilled about it, one of the band's vocalists Luke Murray said.

"We want to show the whole world what we're made of," Mr Murray said.

Vocalist Mr Paden said he believed the experience of travelling together as a band to Sydney, and performing at the conference, would be great for them.

"As a band that brings us together, makes us closer as a band and more confident," he said.

"It's a good experience for all of us."

RED Inc support planner and Brotherhood musician Mr Cassels said a group such as the Brotherhood appearing before the public at a conference like this one allowed them to help extend what the community might see when they look at people with a disability.

He said the Brotherhood had shown the musicians what they were capable of, and the community, and this conference was a "nice platform" to showcase that.

The Brotherhood has certainly made an impression on the NDS.

The band will also travel to the Coffs Harbour conference at the end of March - again, all expenses paid.
